Hawzah News Agency- In his childhood, he studied under his father, who taught him Arabic literature at a high level, and then began studying jurisprudence and the principles of jurisprudence. It did not take long before he entered Isfahan Seminary at his father's request. He was only 13 when he was known as a talented seminary student In such a way that in any field he studied, he made such progress that he could teach or become an expert in the field. He benefited abundantly from great seminary professors in morphology, syntax, rhetoric, eloquence, mathematics, the tafsir of the Quran, and the interpretation of Nahj al-balagha, poetry, literature, astronomy, medicine, etc. Especially in the field of jurisprudence and the principles of jurisprudence, philosophy, and mysticism, he benefited from the presence of seminary professors, including Agha Mirza Mohammad Baqer Chaharsuqi, Mirza Mohammad Hassan Najafi, Mirza Abul Maali Kalbasi. While he was less than 25 years old he became a prolific and well-known professor in the Isfahan seminary. Later, to pursue his studies, he went to Najaf.
Allameh Seyyed Mohammad Baqer Dorchehi departed this life when 80 years old in 1342 AH. Although the government doctors who came by his beside announced that his passing had been a natural death due to suffocation, to many, it was evident that Allameh was martyred by Reza Khan Pahlavi, the then-king of Iran, as he openly opposed Reza Khan, condemning the oppressive policy of Pahlavi’s rule. Notably, many reasons support the theory of his martyrdom, including a confession made by a penitent government police agent. He was laid to rest in Takhte-Phoolad, a historical cemetery in Isfahan, Iran.
Man of Humility
In public meetings, someone who delivered a speech was not allowed to speak in praise of Allameh during the speech, for he would prefer his traits and virtues not to be revealed.
In the same vein, in letters or religious questions addressed to the Allameh, no one was allowed to mention any title describing his greatness and virtues, for he believed that mentioning such titles would only consume extra time and ink.
Simple Living & Thanksgiving
For long, when studying in Najaf and being a seminary student, he lived off the unusable radishes thrown away by the farmer and desert plants; however, he was never ungrateful to God, which suggests his level of gratitude towards God.
